Why It Began

Hello! My name is Peggy Beeuwsaert (pronounced "Beesert"). I am a Wellness Coach and Nutritionist, specializing in weight loss. I hold certifications in Nutrition, Personal Training, and Group Fitness Instruction from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and am currently studying to earn formal certification through NASM as a Wellness Coach, with an emphasis on Weight Loss and Behavior Change. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration and am currently enrolled in an online MSW program at Arizona State University. I'll be earning my Master's degree in Social Work in December 2028.
I am here because I want to help you reach an overall sense of fulfillment and well-being in your life. You deserve that, not so much because of how great you are (even though you are!), but simply because you exist. You don't need to "earn" love; it is your birthright. And the love you're really searching for isn't found in other human beings. It is found within. And without. Love is everywhere. I specialize in weight loss, having been on that journey myself. It wasn't easy, but I got rid of the excess weight 35 years ago and have kept it off since. I started by getting educated on the truth about the volume (and types) of food I was consuming. Having always thought that I had to feel stuffed in order to be well nourished, I was fascinated at how little I could eat and still be okay--and not just okay, but healthier and stronger! All I had to do was eat the right foods in the right amounts so that this miraculous gift called my body could function smoothly and have the fuel it needed to thrive. Sounds easy, right? Quite the contrary, once I faced the reality of my habits, I had to change them. And that was hard. But as I began to change my habits, my body began to transform as well and, eventually, so did my relationship with food. Helping people get physically healthy by showing them that they can take agency over how they eat, drink, and move--and giving them the roadmap to get there--is where my greatest level of expertise lives. Beyond that, I want to help people elevate other areas of their lives as well, which is why l am pursuing my Wellness Coach certification and Master's degree in Social Work. In addition to my weight loss journey, I have been on other journeys as well--some joyful, some painful, some a dichotomy. Some of them have served as a pair of pruning shears which, yes, hurt at the time--but those scar points then became new growth points, each and every one of them absolutely essential, added lovingly one by one, to prune away the parts of me that were only going to keep dragging me down, in order to allow the person I really was to flourish. But in order to do that, I had to open myself up to the pruning. The learning. The lessons. It was humbling. I often joke with people that I have no dignity left. What they don't realize is that I'm being serious. I had to surrender and let go in order to become, shall we say, a well-pruned vine branch. There were some lessons I had to learn more than once. But the universe can be merciful, nudging us gently at first, then progressively harder until we finally get the message. At other times, life can blindside us, slam dunking us to the ground. Opening ourselves up to how even the worst adversities can lead to growth, and heightening our awareness by paying attention to the clues, are what allow the pruning and growth to occur. What we're really doing through this process is opening ourselves up to God. To Source. To where it all began. To where we each began. Through it we also connect with our innermost being, our essence. There's nothing I would love more than to help you prune away the parts of you that are dragging you down so that you can be freed to walk away from the you that isn't you. It sounds simple, but it is probably the most difficult thing you will ever do. It's not easy to let go. Human beings like security. We long for comfort and certainty. We've told ourselves the same stories, and owned our identity, for years, maybe even decades. It's so much easier to revert back. But there comes a time when you need to let go of what doesn't elevate you to the version of yourself that you were created to be--the one that's already there, inside of you--which will land you right back to who you already are. It's time to return to yourself. If you're ready to take this journey, then I would love to support you in it. But I must warn you: If you're looking for easy answers, I won't have them. What I will have is a listening ear (two, actually!), which may help you find your own answers. Are you ready?
